Police Investigate Attacks in German Village and Nationwide

Tuesday night German village residents and Columbus police met to discuss the recent attacks in both German Village and Nationwide Children’s.

Monday night a third German Village woman was assaulted. The assailant threatened her with a gun, hit her with it, and robbed her.

Victims have described their assailant as a young black man, about 6 feet tall and wearing a white or silver mask.

Though investigators are not linking the crimes in German Village with the crimes on Nationwide’s campus together because suspect information varies, Police are warning residents in both areas to stay vigilant, according to 10tv.

Police said at the meeting that Monday’s attack is one of four in the last two weeks, including the two at Nationwide, and an attempted robbery they’re currently investigating.

Columbus Division of Police Commander Robert Strausbaugh said all of the victims are women.

Police told residents to look for any identifying markers, like a tattoo, a haircut, or anything that sticks out. They also requested that residents who have surveillance cameras to look through the footage for suspicious persons.

Anyone with information or tips should contact the Columbus Division of Police at 614-645-4545.
