Update: Mother of three dies after being shot by husband
Update: Lucia Romero, 42, has recently passed away after being shot by her husband. She wanted a divorce from Fernando Romero which prompted the shooting.
Romero, was in court Friday for arraignment on felonious assault charges. His charge was upgraded to murder after his wife died. He bought the gun three months prior in expectation for the day his wife would want to end the relationship. Romero has been given a $700,000 bond.
Their three children are fearing for their lives.

Breaking: A Hilltop woman is in life-threatening condition after a shooting this morning. Her three children were in their home when they heard screaming downstairs. Upon investigating, they found their mother, shot, on the floor. They phoned the police for help.
The children, ages 8- 15, were not injured.
When police arrived, they found the door ajar with keys still inside the lock.
A passerby said they heard gunshots around 7 a.m.
Police say a possible suspect has been detained.
