US 33 to I-270 Bridge Repair Could Take A Week

Traffic will be hectic for at least a week as crews work to do emergency repairs on the ramp from US 33 east to I-270 north after the tanker fire Monday morning.

Police told 10tv that the fire happened after the driver lost control of of the vehicle when the tanks to topple over and explode, leaving one dead.

ODOT Chief Engineer Jim Barna said I-270 is passable, but the bridge retained a lot of the damage and lost quite a bit of concrete.

Drivers are still able to take the ramp to I-270 south to Tuttle Crossing then to I-270 north.
