Breaking 06/21/2017 9:25am: An 8-year-old was rescued from an apartment complex pond last night in the area of Mallard’s Landing Dr.

The boy was with another kid by the pond while the adults were praying at the mosque nearby. Firefighters were the first on the scene and were able to retrieve the victim from the water without any diving equipment.

The boy could have been under the water for thirty minutes. He wasn’t breathing when he was brought to the surface and he left the scene not breathing. Firefighters confirm that when he arrived at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, he was breathing but in critical condition.
