Post on Columbus Pride Facebook page calls for killing of LGBTQ community
An employee of the Columbus City School District posted on the Columbus Pride Parade and Festival 2017 Facebook page, suggesting the LGBTQ community be killed.
“I hope this event turns out like the Boston Marathon a few year’s back. All [LGBTQ people] should be killed or at least relocated,” he wrote.
The CPD and Homeland Security have gotten involved. The school district was quick to respond to the concerning social media behavior of one of their employees.
The poster used a personal page to make the comment.
There is no word on what disciplinary actions the school district has taken or plans to take.
This is nothing new to exec director of Stonewall Columbus, Karla Rothan. She’s dealt with similar hate speech for years. Rothan assures that the event will still be safe to all.
