Man in viral altercation with OSU police not arrested
Some witnesses have questioned the tactics of Ohio State University Police after a video posted to Twitter on Monday seemingly shows a black man being detained without any cause. The man can be heard in the video repeated asking “What am I being arrested for?” The video of the altercation can be found below.
University police did not comment in the video, however OSU police later explained via twitter they were “responding to an urgent report of a person who may harm himself and may have had a weapon.” In a later tweet, they explained he was not under arrest. “Officers took action deemed necessary to protect the safety of all. He was not arrested: taken to hospital for well-being check.”
