All aboard! New Columbus bus tours rolling in
A couple months ago, bike and paddle boat tours of Columbus became available. Now, there’s a way to take in the views and info all while sitting. So sit back, releax and let us tell you about Columbus’ all new bus tours.
The movers and shakers behind Columbus Food Adventures and Brew Adventures are taking a step away from consumption and beginning to dabble in Columbus’ bag of history. The new tours are called Columbus City Adventures and they feed your mind rather than your stomach. Guides will be talking you through Columbus past including topics like African American culture, military, and LGLBT history.
This is Bethia Woolf and Andy Dehus’ third project.
To give long-time Columbus residents a richer understanding of our city’s background and to enlighten newcomers on their new home’s 200+ year reputation, Woolf and Dehus synced up with Jeff Lafever of the Columbus Historical Society. He is the co-founder and coordinator of the new touring service.
The new venture includes three bus tours and one walking tour:
- Central City: a couple hours spent cruising around downtown and adjacent neighborhoods, focused on culture and entertainment
- Past Present & Future: a three-hour bus ride peering into the city’s heritage and forthcoming developments
- Architecture: as you can image, this is a tour of the local architecture, 3 hours
- German Village: lace up the tennies, you’ll be walking through the neighborhood for about two hours
As one of the top ranked cities in the midwest, Columbus has a lot to flex about. It’s about time something like this came along.
