#Eat614: Food truck brunchin’ with Broke Johnny
Popular opinion: eggs and bacon taste better after breakfast. Don’t believe us? Try Broke Johnny’s revered huevos rancheros in the middle of the afternoon and tell us we’re wrong. Go ahead, we’ll wait..
“I spent a lot of time in the restaurant business working nights, so anytime you could get a breakfast meal it was a treat,” said Chris Anthony, food craftsman of Broke Johnny.
With a slew of options, it may seem difficult to choose amongst three categories of waffles, breakfast specials, and sides. Pick the classic chicken and waffles or try something a bit smokier, like the ham and cheese waffle, which features a bourbon-bacon sauce. Their eight breakfast specials include the hand-cut wedge fries, which are smothered in a spicy sauce and queso.
“We don’t use any frozen products,” said Anthony. “We operate on a revolving made-from-scratch menu.”
With fresh ingredients and unique breakfast combinations, you’ll be tracking down this truck for brunch, lunch, and those late-night snacks all summer long.
Here’s where to snag brunch on the run this weekend:
