Recent Columbus HS graduate killed in car accident

A teenager from Columbus was killed in a car accident Sunday afternoon.

Kiara Stowers, 18, was riding with her boyfriend, Elijah Ross, 19, of Pickerington, in Lorain County. Ross, the driver, crashed into a truck at the intersection of SR-511 and SR-18. Ross did not sustain any injuries but his passenger and girlfriend passed away.

The driver of the truck was hospitalized with minor injuries.

All three individuals were wearing seat belts. Alcohol is not expected to have been a factor in the crash.

The crash remained under investigation.
