Library shooting suspect to be charged with two felonies
An active shooter situation played out at the main branch of the Columbus Metropolitan Library Sunday afternoon. Joseph Steward, 28, was arrested after shooting John Thrasher, 47. Steward will be charged with two felony assault counts. Police say an altercation between the two arose after the accused shooter bumped into the victim’s girlfriend. The victim confronted the shooter, who then fired his gun.
Steward proceeded to chase Thrasher through the second level of the library. Eventually, he was stopped by a security guard and surrendered his gun. Thrasher is being treated for a gunshot wound on his ankle.
