9 can’t-miss events to round out your summer
Summer is starting to wind down in Columbus, sadly, but there are still a lot of fun things for you to do with friends and family.
From concerts to comedy, here are nine can’t-miss events to round out the season.
Ohio State Fair
July 25-August 5
@Ohio Expo Center
The Ohio State Fair brings together rides, food, livestock, and music all in one place.
Performances at the fair include the Beach Boys, Reba McEntire, TLC and comedian Trevor Noah. Tickets start at $10 for those 13 and up.
Children under 5 get in free with a paid adult. Ride All Day wristbands vouchers are available for $25.
Beyonce and Jay Z
August 16
@Ohio Stadium
Husband and wife duo Jay-Z and Beyonce are making beautiful music together once again for their OTR II tour.
They just released their joint album The Carters: Everything is Love so expect a whole new set of performances for the show.
Tickets start at $54.
National Urban League
August 1-4
Conference Columbus Convention Center
The National National Urban League Annual Conference is one of the nation’s largest annual civil rights conferences.
Speakers for the conference include Sheryl Sandberg, Chief Operating Officer for Facebook, Tarana Burke, Founder of the #MeToo Movement and Hollywood producer Devon Franklin and actress Megan Good.
Ticket prices vary depending on registration.
The Smashing Pumpkins w/METRIC
August 11
@Schottenstein Center
Grammy Award-winning, alternative rock pioneers the Smashing Pumpkins bring their Shinny And Oh So Bright Tour with founding members Bill Corgan, Jimmy Chamberlin, and James Iha.
Tickets start at $29.

Comedian Kevin Hart is bringing his honest and funny Irresponsible Tour to town along with the Plastic Cup Boyz.

Breakaway Music Festival
August 24-26
@Mapfre Stadium
The festival brings together some of the most influential hip-hop and electronic music groups.
Featured acts include Halsey, Odesza, and Migos.
Three-day tickets are available for $159 and single day tickets start at $70.
WWE Raw
September 3
@Schottenstein Center
Ronda Rousey, Kurt Angle, and many other wrestling superstars return to Columbus for WWE Monday Night RAW.
Tickets start at $23.
Nick Cannon Wild’N Out Live
September 6
@Schottenstein Center
Comedian and actor Nick Cannon will perform alongside cast members of the hit television show Wild’ N Out for his popular comedy tour Wild’N Out Live.
The tour will feature a live music performance from today’s most popular hip-hop musicians.
Tickets start at $35.
Columbus Food Truck Festival
August 17-18
@Scioto Mile & Bicentennial Park
Get a taste of the best food trucks and carts in Central Ohio while listening to some live music.
There’s also arts and crafts for everyone.
