Bad news: You’re going to have to travel by [lame] car to get to the incredible train wonder world in West Chester, Ohio but once you’re there, transportation via wheels will be the furthest thing from your mind.

Just an hour and a half drive from Ohio’s capital exists a wonderland of locomotive merriment called EnterTRAINment Junction.

Enter the EnterTRAINment Junction for one of the largest model train displays in the world, a locomotive museum, a Thomas the Train-inspired playhouse, and so much more!

The expertly crafted model trains travel on a two-mile track and takes spectators back in time beginning in the 1860s, through the Civil War, the Middle Period of the 1940s and 50s, and into the Modern Period of today.

Take extra time on the Coney Island display! Nestled along the banks of the Ohio River, is a true legend in its own time. With its beginnings dating back to 1886, Coney is beloved by multiple generations of families.

But that’s not all. Here are the other attractions at EnterTRAINment Junction:

Imagination Junction: Does your kid love Thomas the Train? Then they’ll love the Imagination Juction. Climb, slide, and crawl through over 5,000 square feet of railroad-themed indoor play areas.

American Railroad Museum: Expand your knowledge of locomotives at the world’s largest interactive train museum and movie theater.

People of all ages will love the informational adventure about what the US was like before trains, their size and power, and how trains have forever influenced travel.

At the end, test your knowledge at the trivia kiosks.

Great Train Expo: Now through August, everything railroading can be found in this huge (8,000 square foot) expo center with numerous additional train layouts in many different sizes.

Historical artifacts and collectibles are also on display here plus see singer Neil Young’s personal touring Lionel train display.

Seasonal Rides: Memorial Day through Labor Day, kids can hop aboard two separate rides: the Kids’ Express which is a kid-powered, hand-cranked locomotive and Narrow Gauge Kid’s Train which is an electric locomotive ride over 1000 feet of track.

Admission for kids is $9.95 and adults is $13.95.
