car2go pulls out of Columbus for good
Car2go is pulling out of Columbus and they won’t be looking back in their rearview mirror.
The car-sharing company will be removing its fleet of smart cars from Ohio’s capital city, effective May 31, 2018.
“In 2013…we have strongly advocated for smarter, more innovative and affordable mobility solutions in Columbus,” they wrote in a release. “However, despite our best efforts and investment, there has not been enough adoption of our service to continue operations here.”
If you are a car2go member, you will notice fewer available vehicles but you can still use your membership in Columbus until the 31 and in other car2go markets across the U.S.
“We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to you and every member of the Columbus community who supported us throughout the years,” car2go wrote. “We deeply regret any inconvenience this decision may cause you.”
