Organic grocer in prime Polaris location folding up

It seems there was just one too many organic grocer in Columbus—Earth Fare Inc. is pulling out of Columbus. The North Carolina-based chain is closing its store at 1440 Gemini Place due to “real estate challenges” which they did not elaborate to Columbus Business First.

The final day will be March 31.

Earth Fare stores are predominantly located down south and while the company wished to expand more in the Columbus region, it never came to be. There are still three stores in Northeast Ohio and a few more scattered throughout the Midwest. The Columbus closure is alongside a pair of Georgia stores folding.
