Two for one: New program to put Franklinton homeless to work + tidy streets

Franklinton suffers from two major issues—homelessness and litter—so a local organization is looking to start an initiative to curb both.

The Franklinton Trade Board is hoping to pay homeless people $10 an hour to clean up homeless camps and surrounding area of the neighborhood, reports 10TV.

The board hopes to secure $50,000 worth of funding from Columbus City Council to kickstart the program.

Fifty people will be on-boarded to work six-hour shifts once a week at first.

Mount Carmel Health and Jordan’s Crossing also jumped in on the project to act as resources for participants.
