5 “very bold and playful” babies born at The Wilds
Usually the term “takin kids” is something terrible, but today, we’re celebrating it! The Wilds welcomed five Sichuan takin kids to the group.
The Wilds posted on Facebook that the three males and two females were born in the pasture between March 11-29 and “are all doing great.” They added the kids are “very bold and playful.”

According to The Wilds, Takin are classified as vulnerable on the IUCN’s Red List for Threatened Species™ and are native to the same region of China as the giant panda. They have the highest level of protection in China and face threats of habitat loss and overhunting.
These young takins are currently out in the pasture with the breeding herd where you could spot them on a Winter at The Wilds tour. To book a tour, click here.
