New Daily Growler restaurant will satisfy growling bellies with brunch, late night menus

You can always find a great selection of craft brews on draft at the Daily Growler, but you’ll soon be able to take care of the growling in your stomach there, too.

Short & Stout Kitchen held their grand opening in the first floor of Daily Growler in German Village at 702 S. High St yesterday. The kitchen space, formerly occupied by Big Mamma’s Burritos, will be serving up breakfast to beer fans seven days a week starting at 9:30 AM, with a dinner and late-night menu of scratch-made favorites like burgers, salads, and poutines available Wednesday through Saturday from 5:00 PM – 10:00 PM. Coffee and cocktails will also be available.

You may be wondering where a brunch kitchen gets the clout to create cocktails. Well, before the kitchen endeavor, Short & Stout existed only as a mobile bar to be hired out for events like weddings and graduations.

But, due to a loss in the family and the bustle of opening a restaurant, owners Lehne and Dallas Runyon made the difficult decision to sell the Mobile Bar.

“This isn’t the post we wanted to make right before our busy wedding season, but the time has come to sell our business,” they wrote on Facebook. “With the passing of my brother in law this week and the restaurant opening next week we have decided our girls need us, we are missing out on the most important time in their life.”

While we will miss Short & Stout Mobile Bar, we are very much looking forward to the Runyon’s dedicating all their time and attention to Short & Stout Kitchen inside Daily Growler. Congrats on the accomplishment, we look forward to devouring all your hard work!
