A few things borrowed. Several things brewed. Cheryl Harrison and Scott Ziegler tied the knot out at Rockmill Brewery with a cast of friends and family, tables full of games, and tacos and beer, fitting for the Drink Up Columbus founder.

If all of the city’s beer scene wasn’t there in person, they were in spirit—with custom brews and imitation beer label invitations tying it all together. They cut through the ceremony, and the pretense and got right on down to gettin’ down.

The couple exchanged their vows privately atop a balcony, while their friends played music for the crowd below. Then, husband and wife drank local beer and liquor, and ate tacos to their hearts’ (and bellies’) content. No stress, just vows and brews. And a chartered bus to get their friends and family back up to the Cbus safely.

Oh, and since it’s a brewery, of course, a cat.

Anything that you want to add that made your day stand out? We skipped most of the ceremonial nonsense in favor of actually spending time and celebrating with our friends and family. We didn’t have bridal parties, a dance floor, a cake cutting, a dollar dance. We didn’t even have an officiant  in the traditional sense of the word. Instead, three of our talented actor friends—Matt Webster, MaryJoanna Grisso and Chasdan Mike—performed two of our favorite Beatles songs while Scott and I privately exchanged vows on the balcony of the brewery while our friends and family watched from below. Then we ate a bunch of tacos and drank a butt-ton of beer. We chartered a bus to shuttle our guests to and from the Grandview area so they could indulge safely.

The Big Day, in six words: Light on pomp; extra on party.
