Art in the COVID age: GCAC to hold virtual Arts festival this weekend
How do you hold an arts festival virtually? Well, Columbus is about to find out firsthand this coming weekend with the first-ever Columbus Arts Fest in Place event.
Fest in Place will be offering a virtual festival on the same weekend (June 12-14) as what was originally the annual Columbus Arts Festival.
The initiative won’t be able to make up for the excitement one gets from stumbling upon a booth and finding that perfect piece that completes their living room. However, due to the massive crowds that the Greater Columbus Arts Council event attracts every year during this weekend, holding an in-person festival presented too many health and safety concerns.
