Village Taco bringing fun vegan fare to Parsons Ave

Gather round, Columbus, so we can taco’bout the new vegan restaurant and bar now open on Parsons Avenue.

Village Taco has officially taken over the former Hal & Al’s space at 1297 Parsons Ave.

Village Taco owners Jonny Stone and Heidi Stone originally opened Village Taco in Alexandria, where they live. They closed that location down when the Parsons Avenue storefront became available, though they were able to develop a loyal following in only six months of business.

During the Alexandria stint, menu favorites like the Rollin’ Fatties burrito, Chronic Enchiladas, and Dirty Sunset tacos emerged, reports Columbus Business First. The menu also offers fried favorites like French fries, corn “dogs”, and popcorn “chicken”—all plant-based, of course.

The Stones still show support for their hometown by sourcing ingredients from three farms in the Alexandria area, plus Franklinton Farms and Seven Acre Farm in Dublin.

Guests can indulge in Village Taco’s full bar, stocked with local beers and spirits.

Outside of normal food and drink service, the Stones host a monthly free meals program to those in need, and hope to start a farmer’s market in the grassy lot next to Village Taco, according to Columbus Business First.
