Ohio show snags second in national holiday lights list

Sarah Sole

While WE know that Clifton’s annual holiday lights show is not to be missed, evidently now the rest of the country does, too.

The Legendary Lights of Historic Clifton Mill took second place in USA Today’s top 10 best public holiday lights displays list

Experts partnered with USA Today editors to pick nominees, and popular vote determined the final top 10.

Clifton Mill’s annual lights display has been a tradition for over 30 years, and features over 4 million lights on the mill, gorge, riverbanks, trees, and bridges. The view even includes a 100-foot “waterfall” of twinkling lights. What a winter wonderland, amiright?

The lights are on view now through Dec. 30. Gates open at 5 p.m., and the display is lit up from 6 to 9 p.m. seven nights per week. On Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, hours are 6 to 8 p.m.

Looking for other ways to see lights this holiday season? Check out the lights at Columbus and Franklin County Metro Parks, or get your quarantine crew together and take a tour of other lights around town

Our favorite kind of winter is the sparkly kind.
