The Crust, the local wood-fired pizza ghost kitchen from the owners of The Crest, has announced a temporary closure.

According to a statement posted to The Crust’s social media accounts, the pizza concept will be closing up at least temporarily, although it will continue to operate as a pop-up in the near future.

“Hey Crust fans, our woodfire oven is going to take a break from making pizzas for the time being. This isn’t a goodbye…only a see you later since we are hoping to do future pop-ups,” the statement reads. “Thanks for the support along the way –see you in the future.”

It is currently unclear how long the pizza spot’s break will be. According to a representative from The Crust, the spot doesn’t have any pop-ups currently scheduled, although it likely will soon.

Created last fall, The Crust is a ghost kitchen that operated out of The Crest, using a wood-fired oven to craft a variety of gourmet pizzas.

The Crust is also behind the popular “Crust is real” billboard in Clintonville.
