This free Ohio holiday attraction called ‘Candy Cane Trail’ just broke a Guinness World Record

Christmas history has been made here in Ohio.

This holiday season, the city of Ashland set out to become a Guinness World Record holder for the largest display of illuminated metal structures/sculptures.

An adjudicator for the Guinness World Records flew out to Ashland to witness their 700 beautifully decorated trees, 5 million twinkling lights, and Christmas cheer paved along a ¾ mile paved trail, dubbed “Candy Cane Trail.”

Setting the world record required a minimum of 400 illuminated structures that represented or symbolized something specific. Ashland decided to go with 776 festive Christmas trees, officially breaking the record.

The Candy Cain Trail is completely free until January 6th if you’d like to be part of history. Visitors can walk the trail from 5:30-9:30 each evening at 1301 Park Street or 1264 Center Street, Ashland, OH. There are interactive opportunities on the trail, plus plenty of photo opps!

Thanks to a partnership between the owners of Grandpa’s Cheesebarn, the City of Ashland, and the Ashland County Parks District, this holiday season just got even more magical.
