Here’s where you can meet Santa for free this weekend!

Santa Claus is coming to (down)town this weekend! Skip the long lines inside the malls,  skip the high cost of other events, and instead, opt for two events this weekend that allow you take photos with Santa for free.

Santa Extravaganza Lazarus Building (50 W. Town St.)
On Saturday, December 2nd, from 4-7pm, you can celebrate Christmas with face painting, holiday crafts, complimentary refreshments, letters to Santa, and even pictures with Santa, all for free. Since this will be located in the Lazarus Building, where people decades before us used to visit Santa, it’s going to be extra festive and special, with gorgeous decorations throughout.

German Village Lights – all throughout German Village, but Santa will be in front of Schmidt’s Fudge Haus (220 E. Kossuth St.) around 6:00pm
This is about as close as you can get without booking a flight to Germany. With sidewalks illuminated by candles, live Christmas music brought to you by choirs throughout the city, and cozy vendors serving warm nuts, popcorn, and hot chocolate, it’s impossible not to feel the holiday cheer. Santa and Mrs. Claus have parked their sled right outside Schmidt’s, and anyone is able to snap some photos to cherish the memories together. Festivities are sprawled throughout German Village, but Kossuth St. near Schmidt’s is definitely the hotspot, with the Columbus Chorus singing from 5:45 pm – 6:45pm, then again from 7:45 – 8:45 pm.
