Is this the best mortgage-related billboard in all of Columbus? You decide

When Kris McCurry, Branch Manager of the Nationwide Mortgage Bank located at 1145 Goodale Blvd. in grandview needed an idea for a billboard, he reached toward what he knows.

“I’ve been into hip-hop forever, and to be honest, mortgage advertising isn’t always the most exciting thing, so I’m always trying to do new stuff, funny stuff when I can,” McCurry said. “And the suit and tie thing only goes so far.”

His billboard, which went up 10 days ago and is located next to Hofbräuhaus Columbus, just west of Olentangy River Road on Goodale Street, says:

McCurry said the inspiration for the billboard came after he bought tickets to Wu-Tang’s upcoming Columbus show, which will take place on Oct. 4.

He said the billboard will likely remain up for a month, and the feedback so far has been positive. Mostly.

“Everyone has really enjoyed it. A few older people I know didn’t know what it meant though,” he said with a laugh.
