These five summer festivals this month are perfect for the whole family
With the school season ending and summer in full swing, festivals and events are popping up at every corner. However, despite their overwhelming amount, it can be difficult to decipher if these events are suited for the whole family. From art and food, to bounce houses and concerts – these five summer festivals are sure to have something for everyone.
Cap City Festivals
Whilst the Cap City Festivals happen throughout the summer, two of their dates will occur this month at Driving Park (June 8) and Barnett Park (June 22) from 3-7pm. These events focus on bringing resources to the surrounding community by providing live music, free food and interactive activities such as zip lining and wall climbing – all with free admission.
Columbus Air Show
Back at the Rickenbacker International Airport, this event is perfect for those with a special interest in aviation, or who just want to experience a once-in-a-lifetime air show. This year the United States Air Force Thunderbirds will be present at the event after a 20-year absence from central Ohio. Taking place June 14-16, 9am-5pm, the event will host concessions and vendors alongside their air shows. Children 15 and under are eligible for free admission while adult general admission starts at $45. Military discounts for 15% are also available.

Creekside Blues and Jazz Festival
Celebrating its 25th anniversary, this festival serves as a cultural celebration of everything blues and jazz. The festival spans over a three day period June 14-16 in Creekside, Gahanna and will have food trucks, vendors and three main music stages to showcase varying performances from local and global artists. Tickets, ranging $10-15 can be found on the festival’s website.
Worthington Arts Festival
Featuring over 120 artists, this Worthington art festival is returning to Village Green Park June 15, 9am-5pm and June 16, 11am-5pm. One of the most anticipated art festivals in the Columbus-area, several vendors and food trucks such as Buckeye Crepes, Fork In Nigeria will be present. Admission is free, however a VIP kickoff breakfast is available for $75, with proceeds going to the McConnell Arts Center.
Columbus Children’s Festival
Wrapping up our list is an event that is almost entirely geared for those young in age. June 15, 10am-4pm in SportsOhio, Dublin, this event will feature mini golf, bubble runs, bounce parks, talent contests, and various other interactive activities. Attendees can also anticipate concerts from The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles throughout the event! While admission is free, children and families can register for attendance and specific festival events are on their website.
