Popular smash burger food truck opening first brick and mortar location
Last June, Smash Buddies food truck opened to the public. This August, the concept is planning to launch its first-ever brick and mortar home.
According to owners Jared France and Kole Nuehs, Smash Buddies will open its first-ever physical restaurant space this summer. It will located at 460 S. Front St., in the Brewery District.
“We weren’t planning on opening a space this soon. We created a following, and people were looking for us, but we’re all over the city,” France told 614Now. “And then this opportunity came up. We saw an opportunity to open this up, and we’re opportunists at heart.”

Aiming to open the first week of August, the eatery will likely launch as a ghost kitchen in the space sometime in July as well. France said the Smash Buddies food truck will continue to operate long-term, but will be closed the first several months after the restaurant opens (it will remain open for pre-scheduled events, however).
Nuehs said the eatery’s concise menu will remain largely the same, although they plan to add a variety of rotating speciality burgers as permanent menu items.
Smash Buddies recently was voted the city’s best burger in the TriMark’s Best Burger in Columbus 2024 contest.
