Survey shows a majority of Ohio men would take their first date to this fried chicken restaurant

Forget white tablecloths, candles, and a bottle of red. Apparently, 21st century singles don’t need to put on a show to impress a first date these days.

In a recent survey by Dating News, single men from Ohio prefer to take their first dates to none other…Chick-fil-A.

“A fine-dining dinner for two in a fancy restaurant can easily set you back well over $100. That’s a lot of money to spend if you aren’t even sure if you’ll like the person you’re sharing it with,” said Dating News. “As a result, many singles are choosing to forgo traditional dating constraints and choose instead a more casual affair.”

And what’s more casual than a fried chicken sandwich, waffle fries, and kids screaming inside the indoor Chick-fil-A playground?

In the survey of over 3,000 single men, Chick-fil-A actually came out on top, with 16% of respondents saying this fried chicken franchise would be their go-to first-date.

“The old-school method of taking a new date out for dinner has been replaced by casual quick-service dates at coffee shops, bars, and even fast-food joints,” said Amber Brooks, Editor-in-Chief at DatingNews.com. “A first date is a risk, and in this economy, modern singles are saving their time and money by opting for a chicken sandwich over a chicken marsala.”

All I can say is I’m grateful to not be in the dating scene these days, but I seem to be in the minority! 66% of women said they would be willing to go to a fast food chain if a man asked them to go on the first date.
