The last month has seen an increase in crime in the German Village area. Homes, garages and cars have all been targets. Roughly 40 break-ins have been reported in the last several weeks and police are taking steps to address the situation. Authorities say that they are using several resources to combat the surge in criminal activity including uniformed officers, plain clothes police, increased patrols and bicycle cops. Columbus Police say that these efforts are in place, even if they aren’t obvious to the naked eye. Police are not saying how many officers are involved or how long the increased presence will last.
