CBJ suffers 4th straight loss to start the season
Someone may want to let the Blue Jackets know that the NHL season has begun. Judging from the team’s efforts on the ice in the last week, it would be news to at least some of them.
Columbus fell to the Ottawa Senators Wednesday night, 7 – 3.
That’s ugly.
The CBJ were on the board first with a power play score from Brandon Saad. Ottawa tied things up a few minutes later. But then Boone Jenner found the back of the net to put Columbus back in front before the end of the first period.
Less than two minutes into the second period, the Senators tied things up again. Then Brandon Dubinsky scored for Columbus with his first goal of the season. That put the CBJ ahead again…and with that, Columbus’ offense was done for the night. Unfortunately, Ottawa’s was not.

Five unanswered scores for the Senators spelled doom for the Jackets’ hopes in this one. The CBJ fall (hard) to Ottawa, 7 – 3.
Something happened after the first period. We went out and tried to become a different team, and it leads to turnovers, breakdowns and easy goals for the opposition.
– Blue Jackets head coach Todd Richards
Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 20 shots, but let six get through.
The home team has lost the first four games of the season in regulation…a club record.
The next game for the Jackets is Friday night when they host the Toronto Maple Leafs. (jj)
