Oh My Gourd! Pumpkin Show gets underway in Circleville
One of the most popular events of the season kicks off today with the start of the Circleville Pumpkin Show.
Hundreds of thousands of visitors turn out for the festival each year for a celebration of all things pumpkin. Estimates say that more than 23,000 pumpkin pies are sold during the 4-day event and over 100,000 pumpkin donuts. Activities for the event include 7 parades as well as various singing and dancing performances. There will be rides for the kids and a chance to sample incredible foods with a special pumpkin touch including pumpkin burgers, pumpkin pizza and pumpkin chili.
And some of the biggest gourds around can be seen as well. This year’s show winner is a pumpkin that weighed in at 1,666 pounds!
