Blue Jackets’ Winter Park to return in January
It was a big hit at the start of this year with the Blue Jackets hosting the NHL All Star Game. Columbus residents and out-of-town visitors alike loved the CBJ’s downtown Winter Park complete with an ice rink and other attractions. Today the Jackets announced that they are bringing it back.
The CBJ will host a month-long celebration of the winter season with the return of Columbus Blue Jackets Winter Park at McFerson Commons Friday, January 22nd through Sunday, February 21st. Fans can expect to find the outdoor rink back in position complete with skate rental, bleacher seating and heated locker rooms. Fire pits will also add to the fun, plus a large heated tent offering weekend entertainment, food and drinks.
A large video board near the rink will also show Blue Jackets games on the weekends.
To kick things off, OhioHealth is sponsoring a 5th Line 5K Race that will start and end outside of Nationwide Arena.
The Blue Jackets say that more than 40,000 fans enjoyed the offerings of Winter Park last time around and they are excited to be able to offer the fun again. (jj)
