Video: ‘I’m the quarterback of Ohio State. There’s nothing that you can do?’
The video has been released of Buckeye quarterback JT Barrett’s Halloween stop for OVI. In the video released by Columbus Police, linked from NBC4 below, officers put JT through his paces. They have him walking a straight line, standing on one foot…everything short of the hokey pokey. Barrett appears cooperative and seems to have no difficulty with the physical tests put to him. With officers smelling alcohol, a breath test was administered and the football star failed. Coach Urban Meyer suspended Barrett from play for one game and this week, the court fined him $400 and suspended his drivers license for 180 days.
TMZ provides some of the more colorful aspects of Barrett’s encounter with police, including him saying to officers ‘I’m the quarterback of Ohio State…there’s nothing that you can do?”
Expect that plea to hurt him and become a taunt in the days to come. (jj)
