Travel Centers of America has agreed to purchase the bankrupt Quaker Steak and Lube restaurant chain for $25 million. The deal is subject to the approval of the bankruptcy court, but if approved. Travel Centers would take control of the company’s 54 restaurants across the country.
Columbus has one full-service Quaker Steak restaurant at 8500 Lyra Drive.
I can’t help but wonder if the eventual plan is to align the restaurants with the travel centers by adding showers for long-haul truckers. (jj)
