This ‘Ghost Trolley’ offers a kid-friendly, spooky train ride in Columbus

It wasn’t until a couple of weeks ago that I learned not only does Columbus have a working train/trolley that allows visitors to hop on, but we also have a ghost trolley, and one of the oldest Railway Museums in the USA!

The Ohio Railway Museum, at 990 Proprietors Road in Worthington, opens their trolley up to the Columbus public every Sunday until December, from noon to 3:30, where families can hitch a ride and explore the surrounding areas. Admission is $9 for adults, $8 for seniors and military members, $7 for ages 4-12, and free for ages three and under. Rides are scheduled 12:30, 1:30, 2:30, and 3:30.  Admission includes riding the trolley train as many times as you’d like, plus visiting the train displays on the grounds!

And for those who prefer things on the more spooky side, the Ohio Railway Museum is offering a “Ghost Trolley Ride,” which is kid-friendly.

“Ghost Trolley is a Halloween event designed for younger children and families to have fun and not be overly frightened! Come tour the decorated train cars while listening to stories. Then board car #64 for your ghost hunt. Once down the line, it’s lights out as you hear the story of the Ghost Trolley and hunt for the ghosts!” their website says.

Visit here to purchase your Ghost Trolley tickets on selected dates, and here’s their Facebook for more info.
