Smoky emergency landing, plane lands at CMH

A smoke indication in the forward cargo hold forced a Southwest plane to make an unexpected pit stop in Port Columbus. The plane was coming from Baltimore and heading for Chicago. The emergency slide was opened and 54 people slid out of the plane onto the Columbus tarmac (although probably not where they wanted to be). After looking into the indication, crews determined there was smoke in the forward cargo hold, according to Southwest, and the airplane was taken out of commission so that it could be inspected further. Southwest is arranging for all the passengers to take other flights to Chicago.
