Annual fishing event as a bonding experience for children and fathers takes place next weekend

Celebrate Father’s Day early with Columbus Urban League’s annual event: Fishing With Dad.

Taking place June 8, 10-2pm, Fishing with Dad is an interactive experience where children and fathers can come together alongside other members of their community. Alongside learning how to fish, the event will host other activities such as knot tying, identifying fish, and learning about fire and water safety.

The self-titled “Celebration of Fatherhood” is free to the public – although registration is encouraged – and will take place in Franklin Park on E. Broad Street in Columbus. The event will also feature music, other educational activities and over 20 community partners.

Families are welcome to bring any and all fishing gear or attire they may have, however fishing poles are available for use – one per family – while supplies last.
