Cincinnati restaurateur opening Columbus steakhouse

After having his eyes on Columbus for years, Cincinnati restaurateur Jeff Ruby has finally staked a claim in the capital city.

The new Jeff Ruby’s Steakhouse will open at 89 E. Nationwide Blvd. in a 100-year-old warehouse that currently houses 89 Fish & Grill, which will be closed to make way for the steakhouse.

The restaurant is still in the early stages of planning, but developers are confident it will be successful, given growth surrounding the location.

However, don’t expect to see the finished product until 2017.

“Our restaurants don’t come out of a can, they’re made from scratch,” Ruby said. “There’s nothing more important than attention for detail.”

Ruby currently has restaurants in Cincinnati and Louisville, and one in Nashville is currently undergoing development.
