The Andersons to Close All Stores

The Andersons, a 65 year old business, announced on Sunday that it would be closing all retail locations, including two in Columbus and two in Toledo, effectively bowing out of the retail game.
Known for their outrageously good wine and beer selection, an enviable deli and assortment of agricultural, seasonal items and clothing — The Andersons closing two Columbus stores, one on Alshire Road and one on Bent Tree Blvd will result in 400 positions being lost.
“The decision to close The Andersons stores was not easy for anyone involved,” said CEO Pat Bowe on the company’s website. “Choosing to cease a business that has spanned 65 years and employs about 1,050 people is tremendously difficult.”
