For Ohioans under the age of 65 years, there has been a decrease in how many go without insurance. That number went from 17 percent to 11 percent. Part of that could be because of a slowly reviving economy and part could be because of the Affordable Care Act. During the recession the uninsured rate ranged from 17 percent to 19 percent whereas before 12 percent. According to the Dispatch, a poll revealed that 10 percent of people in Ohio credited the Affordable Care Act for coverage when they bought their own insurance.
