The whole point of the data scrubbing scandal was to help raise school scores and ratings. Once the practice came to light though, many school’s scores were investigated along with the people who made the changes. New state report cards were released for Columbus City Schools for 2011, 2012 and 2013 so that the scores showed the actual results without some students being omitted or left off. For 2011 and 2012 there was no change to the rating of Continuous Improvement. “Actions that mislead the public about the performance of our education system are unacceptable and do a disservice to kids,” said state Superintendent Richard Ross, according to WTVN.
