A new library will be taking center stage soon and you’re invited to the ground breaking.
The new and improved Martin Luther King Branch will be located at 1467 E Long Street at Taylor Avenue.
Here are all the things guaranteed at the new library:
- Approximately 18,000 square feet of space (it currently has 8,933)
- More parking spaces
- More public computers
- A larger Homework Help Center
- A dedicated Ready for Kindergarten area
- Larger community gathering space
The ground breaking event is happening October 3 at 2pm at the site location mentioned above. It is free and open to the public. Mayor Andrew Ginther and Columbus City School Superintendent Dr. Dan Good will be dropping by.
The Martin Luther King Branch is part of the 10 projects the Columbus Metropolitan Library has taken on. Two others still being worked out are the Hilliard and Dublin branches.
