Help locals: Business pays it forward to veteran in need

A local woman named Jean Pettit served in the Army National Guard from 1989- 1998 and also served during Desert Storm from 1990- 1991. About a year ago, she purchased a lemon of a house that was in desperate need of repair.

Columbus Worthington Air, a central Ohio-based air conditioning, heating and plumbing services provider, came to Pettit’s rescue. They installed an HVAC unit and water heater free of charge and worked to repair her sewage line. In all, the company donated $20,000 worth of services to her.

“It is a privilege to be able to serve those who have selflessly served our country,” says Matt Daubenmire, Service Manager at Columbus Worthington Air, also a veteran. 

Pettit is overwhelmed with gratitude for the local business that got her home back up in working order.

“I am so thankful to Columbus Worthington Air for helping me out. It made me cry when they told me they were going to help. I am very humbled and so thankful.”
