Fatal crash closes roads in east Columbus

A car crash was reported on the east side early Thursday. A driver reportedly drove into a wooded area off Noe Bixby Road and Carbondale Drive and a witness called 911 and police were dispatched to the area. Medics found one person in the car and the person was pronounced dead on the scene, NBC4 reported. The area was shut down for drivers, and was opened back up around 8 a.m. according to police.
