Monsters & Men: Schiller Park’s summer play series will toy with your fears

This summer, join Actors’ Theatre in Schiller Park for “a boisterous romp through all the things that we’re afraid of – murder most foul; melancholy monsters; talking tomcats; and feuding fairies.”

The 2018 season, beginning May 24, will be bookended with Shakespeare’s two classics; Macbeth (May 24 – June 17) and A Midsummer Night’s Dream (August 9 – September 2).

Between the two will be an adaptation of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein (June 21 – July 15) and Ludwig Tieck’s Puss-in-Boots (July 19 – August 5).

“The summer of 2018 will be a time to come together at the Schiller Park amphitheater and revel in the madness and magic of Monsters & Men,” shares Artistic Director Philip J. Hickman in a release.

These outdoor summer shows are free and open to the public, though donations are encouraged. There will even be concessions available courtesy of Legacy Smokehouse.

Memberships are available here.

Actors’ Theatre is made possible by support from the community as well as from the Greater Columbus Arts Council, the Ohio Arts Council, The Columbus Foundation, Columbus Recreation and Parks Department, the German Village Society, and WCBE 90.5 FM.
