Crime-ridden motel knocked down, community celebrates
As a Motel One was knocked down Wednesday, members of the community watched on with pleased looks, some even snapping photos of the momentous occasion. “Just knowing there’s one less place for crime, prostitution and drug deals so close to my business is huge,” Wendy Babcock said, the Dispatch reported. Motel owner Fu Ih Chu was even tossed into jail for a bit to make this next step happen, even though the motel had already been shut down since 2012. Neighbors have seen this has a victory, helping abate crime in the area.
