Columbus residents hoping for $30k to fight Ebola

Ebola has been raging through Africa for months and for some local residents, the epidemic hits closer to home. People within six African community groups have taken it upon themselves to raise money to fight Ebola, and they are hoping to raise $30,000 by Thanksgiving to give to the fight. “Some of us have been dramatically affected by relatives and friends still in our native countries who have died,” said LeRoy Boikai of the End Ebola Now Initiative, according to the Dispatch. The disease has ripped through west Africa, and people representing Democratic Republic of Congo, Guinea, Ethiopia, Liberia, Nigeria and Sierra Leone have participated in the initiative.
