Downtown stopped. During the recession it wasn’t moving forward because there simply wasn’t money to do so. Since 2009 though, the city has been dumping millions into renovating the Scioto and downtown buildings. City Hall has received a $63 million facelift. $130 million is being allotted to upgrading other downtown buildings over the next five years and Mayor Michael Coleman’s renovated a new office for himself for $850,000, the Dispatch reported. The renovations have steamed ahead to upgrade the city’s image that is seen through the look and feel of downtown.
