Post office finally finds ashes of Columbus man’s wife
After days of waiting, Norman Kirkendall finally has his wife back. When she died last week at Cleveland Clinic, Norman was told his Barbara would arrive on Saturday so that they could hold service on Wednesday and Thursday. Her ashes though, were lost in the mail and the post office was sent on a hunt to find out where they had gone missing. It turns out she was accidentally sent to a facility in Michigan for processing and the package was found early Friday morning and delivered right back to her family, the Dispatch reported.

A Cbus man waits for the post office to deliver wife’s ashes
Barbara Kirkendall and Norman Kirkendall were married for 61 years. They had five children together and lived in multiple countries together, but when Barbara died last Norman was told he would have the remains sent to his home by Saturday. The day came and went and his Barbara never arrived, and it seems like the postal service has misplaced her ashes. The memorial service for her is set for Wednesday even though the ashes haven’t arrived, it will go on, but Norman hasn’t given up on getting her back. The post office has said there is a vigilant search for her going on, the Dispatch reported.
