Townships giving medic support, but not getting it back
As Columbus grows, so does its need for emergency support, but as the city expands many services end up coming from suburbs and townships to help out. Area stations have sent 45,000 more emergency runs into the city than they got back last year, the Dispatch reported. Clinton, Franklin, Hamilton and Madison townships bear a lot of the brunt of this system, paying for services going outside of their area. Both the fire chief and Mayor Michael Coleman have said that those areas then get service back from Columbus that would otherwise not be available.
